A little backstory on the first pic. This was taken at the site of he Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing. It was said that the rescue dogs became depressed because they could not find any live victims in the rubble of the collapse. It became such a problem that they started "planting" firefighters in the rubble so the dogs would think they found a live person.

That's just... I don't know what to say. "Tragic" comes to mind, but the flipside to that is that in the midst of that sadness, the firefighters had the presence of mind to be able to help their dogs as well as trying to help people.
